I don’t want to do anything

There comes a time in each and every one of our lives where we get so tired of the monotony of our routines that we want to give our life a pause or stop and do… ‘Nothing’. This state comes because we are forever running after one or the other goal of our lives which keeps us on our toes. And we never get to just linger on in background and observe life or others. So, this state kicks in different phases of our lives. Sometimes when we have encountered a failure or some other times when we are getting successful in every other thing. It doesn’t have any symptom or precaution against it. But it could affect each of us differently. So it’s normal to feel like “I don’t want to do anything anymore” or “I don’t want to do anything with my life”. Some fight it and come out conquering it too, some let it upset them so much to land into depression or stressed state and some of us just wait for it to pass.

There may not be a guide, a prescription or a properly researched analysis about what to do when you don’t feel like doing anything. But many common observations and people analysis have concluded that you can do the following things when you want your busy or mechanical life to take a pause.

Try Taking a Shower

Taking a shower can act like a therapy especially if you have the luxury of slightly warm water and tub. This can also help you change your mind and state as it revives yourself, your body and spirit. People who begin their day with a shower might get their everyday energy back and so they could come out of this phase. As for the other people, taking shower will refresh you and you will feel naturally a bit better as warm water soothes your nerves and takes the stress out of you.

Dressing And Makeup Can Be Magical

In our daily struggles, we forget to spend time on our own selves. Take this opportunity and have some quality time with yourself. Even if you have no heart to go anywhere, dress up well and put on a look you are sure to get praiseworthy comments on. This will boost your mood and you might actually start to feel good about your day as these two things are truly magical.

Take Time In Making The Bed

When you want everything to stop or, on the contrary, to keep running while letting you remain in the hibernate mode, the last thing you want is to clean your room. But analysts recommend clean and even surfaces around a person who is in a disturbed state. So instead of cleaning a room, make your bed and take all the time in the world making it. This will let you fight with the fluff out sheets and covers but once the bed is made, it will calm your disturbed mind immensely.

Consume More Water And Liquids

Staying properly hydrated is a solution to countless illnesses, conditions and states. Even in this state where you don’t wish to do anything, you can keep a bottle of water just nearby, in your reach, so you can keep drinking water as it also naturally makes you feel better and takes the burdens off your head by calming you down in every way. It also gives you better health and energy. If you are bored of drinking water, then alternate it with plain juice of your own choice as this will boost your sugar level and you or your mood will feel immensely better with its consumption.

Exercise Can Be Handy

When you don’t want the world to operate or at least seize hold your own interaction with the outside world than going to gym is nearly impossible. In such a case, you should exercise in the premises of your own house, in your own personal and private world. Exercise is a must to do activity even if it only comprises of jog, brisk walk, squats and crunches. Exercise is an amazing tactic to help reduce stress level.

Force Yourself To Socialize

This requires more than your energy to go and interact with people in this mood but if you could leave your house and manage to socialize with people you will easily pass through this phase. You many not direct your conversation towards any topic rather just have a fruitless yet nice interaction going on. This will also help you to not sulk with the phase.

Doing Dishes Gives You Time For Catharsis

When you have no heart for your routine, go out of the way and do dishes yourself as it gives you a chance to judge yourself and your mistakes in life. This catharsis is immensely fruitful as you again begin to see motive in your life and thus get back to your normal life but only to make it better this time.

Bake or Cook

If you want a break from your daily, un-happening day and night, then you can alternate your routine with a day in the kitchen. You can utilize your dull or angry mood in beating eggs or shaking or stirring the dough for various dishes. When you will bake or cook, your energy will be highly affected and you will be feeling highly elevated than before.

Share it Around

Since one of the major reasons for this state is the loneliness, the best thing to do in this phase is to share it around with the people who are good listeners and are also concerned about you. Remember! You are a human being and not a machine either and since man needs fellow beings to live a happy life, you must also share your life, routine, issues and yourself with others.

Try To Pen Your Thoughts

When you have stopped or paused your life, then the best activity for you is to pen down your thoughts, your experiences, dreams, insecurities and moments that matter to you. This will energize you enough to let you go back to your daily and usual routine easily.
